Cuban Health Professionals Serving at RHAs, UHWI

Jamaica’s public health system currently benefits from the expertise of 200 Cuban health professionals, who are strategically deployed across various Regional Health Authorities and the University Hospital of the West Indies.

This bilateral cooperation remains a critical component of the Ministry of Health and Wellness’s strategy to address specialist staffing requirements within the public sector.

The contingent includes a diverse range of specialists, including primary care physicians and nursing professionals, who provide essential medical services to both urban and rural populations.
