Section of Highway In St. Thomas Named In Honour of Paul Bogle

The Jamaican government has formally designated a significant portion of the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project in St.

Thomas as the Paul Bogle Highway.

This ceremonial naming honours the National Hero's pivotal role in the 1865 Morant Bay Rebellion and his enduring legacy in the struggle for civil rights and social justice.

By integrating historical recognition into modern infrastructure development, the state aims to reinforce national identity while enhancing the logistics and connectivity of the island's eastern corridor.
