A beach day on Seven Mile Beach
Negril, Jamaica

Spend a slow day on Negril’s famous stretch of sand, with swimming, beachside dining and sunset views. Ask local operators about boating and watersports.
Negril’s Seven Mile Beach runs along Jamaica’s western tip, a long sweep of pale sand and calm, shallow water that has drawn visitors since the 1970s. The beach is lined with small hotels, beach bars and family-run restaurants, so it is easy to spend a whole day between swimming, lunch and a nap in the shade.
Late afternoon is the highlight: the beach faces west, and sunset is a daily event. Many visitors walk the shoreline north towards Bloody Bay or head to the cliffs of the West End for evening views.
Good to know
- Go early for quieter sand and calmer water.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
- Agree prices for boat rides or vendors’ services before you start.
